New Construction

Embarking on a new construction project can be a daunting challenge, but it is one that PKSB is familiar with and well equipped to facilitate. From the early stages of site planning and zoning and code analysis through to Construction Administration, PKSB never loses sight of the building's greater function: to serve its inhabitants and to reflect their identity. That purpose remains constant whether for a single family residence, a public school, or a high rise office building.

Ground-up construction can be especially challenging in New York City where space is limited and obstacles such as existing neighboring conditions, transit tunnels, or utilities, lie around every corner. Luckily, we at PKSB know the right questions to ask early on to make informed decisions moving forward.

Most importantly, in our new building projects, PKSB strives to create an Architecture that is timeless - an Architecture that responds to the current needs of its inhabitants while anticipating a long and storied future.

The first thing that an architect must do is to sense that every building you build is a world of its own, and that this world of its own serves an institution.
