Columbia School of Journalism | NEW YORK, NY
The building is a free-standing structure with an ornate brownstone street façade and three brick elevations located in the Soho-Cast Iron Historic District. 155 Mercer Street was constructed in 1854 as a Fireman’s Hall for the City of New York’s Volunteer Fire Department and subsequently was converted to a dance and performance space. Acquired by Thor Equites, PKSB has been in charge of the rehabilitation and restoration of the historic street façade and conversion of the building to accommodate a new commercial use. PKSB was retained as the architect for the building’s tenant, Dolce & Gabanna to execute the company’s flagship store scheduled to be completed by the summer of 2017.
