PKSB converted a former hotel suite facing Central Park into a pied-à-terre that provides an urbane, modern setting for the owner’s collection of Americana antiques. The design was influenced by the Shaker Style, which is characterized by well-crafted materials and solid furniture that is simply detailed. A bold use of colorful materials including dyed wool, integral color plaster floors, and custom floor coverings lend a subtle sophistication, comfort, and vitality to the interior space which is framed by magnificent views of the adjacent park.
