34 Howard Street | NEW YORK, NY

Built in 1868 and designed by renowned architect, James Renwick, the stone and cast iron building at 34 Howard Street has undergone several unsympathetic alterations at its base. Luckily, the building's virtual "twin" (also designed by James Renwick) resides directly across the street and has remained intact in terms of its historic configuration. PKSB used this prototype as a guide in designing alterations to 34 Howard's ground floor facade that would bring the building closer to its original historic condition. Signage rails and awnings were added and building entrances were brought down to grade to provide ADA accessibility,
